Russian Tortoise

 Russian Tortoises are one of the most popular pet tortoises. Largley because of their small size.  They are asy for most people with limited space to keep a pet tortoise.  In Rochester, New York we find our clients love pet tortoises but want something that is fairly easy to house and keep.  Enter the Russian Tortoise.  These compact little tortoises offer all the enjoyment of their larger counter parts. Russian tortoises can be feisty, eager to eat and more active than some other tortoises.  If you allow your pet Russian Tortoise to burrow you will find they have one of the highest tolerances for temperature extremes. As many of our pet reptile clients are from the Rochester, NY Buffalo, NY and Syracuse NY area all have one thing in common; Western NY climate.  These little hard shelled pets are perfect for our upstate NY weather climate as they can easliy be housed in doors year round.  Though Russian Tortoises are perfect beginner tortoises, they are commonly kept by highly experienced reptile owners as well for all of the reasons above!
